HUD endorsed 1017 loans (903 in Basic FHA programs and 114 in Risk Sharing programs). These loans totaled $5.6 billion and provided 122,467 units/beds.
64 lenders made the 903 Basic FHA loans for properties located in the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and all states except North and South Dakota. The Basic FHA loans provide a variety of shelter options: 696 apartment projects; 5 cooperatives; 72 assisted living/ board & care facilities; 129 nursing homes; and 1 mobile home park. Risk Sharing programs created additional shelter. 15 states and the District of Columbia made 88 HFA risk sharing loans covering 10,712 units. Fannie and Freddie made 26 loans covering 3112 units. Office of Affordable Housing Preservation (OAHP) endorsed 176 of the 383 223a7 refinancings.
153 projects in 29 states and the District of Columbia received Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) in conjunction with these loan transactions. 71 of these projects were developed under Basic FHA programs and 82 under Risk Sharing programs.
