FHA is pleased to offer the following events and training, including a series of updated pre-recorded training modules, covering multiple topics on FHA Single Family Housing policies, processes, and technology.

Updated SF Handbook Pre-Recorded Training Webinars. This series of eight pre-recorded training webinars cover the policies that mortgagees use for origination through obtaining a FHA insurance endorsement for Title II forward mortgages. The modules provide an overview of the policies and requirements contained in Sections II.A and II.D of FHA’s Origination through Post-Closing/Endorsement for Title II Forward Mortgages section of the Single Family Housing Policy Handbook 4000.1.

August 17, 2016 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM (Eastern) - Webinar II.2: HUD Loss Mitigation - Home Retention Options (FHA-HAMP).  The Federal Housing Administration’s (FHA) National Servicing Center will provide guidance on HUD’s FHA-HAMP Loss Mitigation Home Retention Option. Topics include: how to review, qualify, and process the FHA-HAMP option, and the actions required to comply with HUD. Registration required. On-line Webinar, No fee.

August 24, 2016 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM (Eastern) - FHA Loss Mitigation Training – Greensboro, NC (Atlanta Homeownership Center) FHA will offer free classroom training on basic FHA loss mitigation. Course content will cover forbearance, loan modification, the FHA Home Affordable Modification Program option (FHA-HAMP), pre-foreclosure sale, and deed-in-lieu of foreclosure. This training is ideal for HUD-approved housing counselors, nonprofit organizations, and local servicing lenders. Registration required. No fee.

August 30, 2016 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM (Eastern) - FHA Loss Mitigation Training – Fort Lauderdale, FL (Atlanta Homeownership Center) FHA will offer free classroom training on basic FHA loss mitigation. September 14, 2016 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM (Eastern) - Webinar IV: Neighborhood Watch System - Servicer Tools. The Federal Housing Administration’s (FHA) National Servicing Center will provide an overview of how FHA-Approved Servicers can utilize HUD’s Neighborhood Watch system. Topics include: system access; servicing reports available; and how to utilize the case detail information available in Neighborhood Watch with the Loss Mitigation review process. September 14, 2016 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM (Central) - FHA Underwriter Training – Chicago, IL (Atlanta Homeownership Center) This is FREE FHA ON-SITE training intended for mortgage professionals including underwriters, processors, and loan officers. The training is to assist in addressing industry FAQs on Handbook 4000.1. Discussions will include changes, policy clarifications and updates on topics such as CIA (credit, income and asset) documentation, Manual Underwriting, AUS, closing, and more. Registration required. No fee.

September 15, 2016 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM (Central) - FHA Appraiser Training – Chicago, IL (Atlanta Homeownership Center) This is FREE FHA ON-SITE training intended for appraisers, mortgage professionals including underwriters and loan officers. The training will address industry FAQs on Handbook 4000.1. Discussions will include changes, policy clarifications and updates on topics such as: Property acceptability criteria, underwriting the appraisal, minimum property requirements, property defective conditions, enhanced appraiser responsibilities and requirements, programs and products (i.e. 203(K)) and much more. The Federal Housing Administration’s (FHA) National Servicing Center will provide guidance to FHA Servicers covering the basics of reporting information on defaulted FHA loans to HUD through the Single Family Default Monitoring System (SFDMS). Topics include: deadlines; EDI files vs. manual reporting; and reporting resources. Registration required. On-line Webinar, No fee.

September 28, 2016 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM (Eastern) - Webinar V.2: SFDMS - Reporting Examples. The Federal Housing Administration’s (FHA) National Servicing Center will provide FHA-Approved Servicers an opportunity to review various default scenarios and the SFDMS reporting that should be associated with each scenario. Examples will include: Default; Loss Mitigation; Bankruptcy; and Foreclosure. Registration required. On-line Webinar, No fee.

October 5, 2016 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM (Eastern) - Webinar V.3: SFDMS – Reporting Errors. The Federal Housing Administration’s (FHA) National Servicing Center will provide FHA-Approved Servicers the opportunity to review the causes of fatal and non-fatal errors in SFDMS reporting, and the actions that can be taken to prevent or fix the problems. Servicers will also learn how SFDMS reporting affects their TRS II score. Registration required. On-line Webinar, No fee.

October 19, 2016 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM (Eastern) - Webinar VI: HUD Extension of Time and Variance Request System (EVARS) Training. The Federal Housing Administration’s (FHA) National Servicing Center will enhance the Lender's understanding of HUD's minimum time requirements for submission of an extension of time request, as well as the Lender’s understanding of when a variance from HUD’s policy is required. Topics to be covered include: types of extensions and variances; events that affect the First Legal Deadline; system access; and how to submit both an Extension of Time Request and Variance. Electronic Class (EClass) on FHA Loss Mitigation & Servicing System:  The EClass System provides additional training on FHA's Loss Mitigation Programs, including FHA's Home Affordable Modification Program (FHA-HAMP), as well as continuing education on loss mitigation & servicing issues that have generated the most industry questions & requests for further training.
