Full Installation Information

Important: To install PASS 2.3.4, it is necessary to remove any earlier versions of the software. Uninstall the program from the registry using the Add/Remove Programs function in the Control panel. To remove the REAC_DCD program, delete the program directory under C:\Program Files\HUDINSP or C:\Program Files\Reac_dcd.

The full installation file (reacv234.exe) includes all of the files required to install the REAC_DCD program. It is approximately 60 files and requires approximately 12 megabytes of hard disk space.

The program and all of its components are contained within the self extracting .zip file (reacv234.exe). These files are automatically placed within the proper directories when the downloaded file is run (double-clicked).

The primary files of the installation are:

  • This file is the program executable.
  • Reac_pwe.mdb - This file is the access database that contains all of the User IDs and passwords used in the initial login of the PASS program.
  • Inspect.hlp - This file is the help file contained within the program.
  • Reac_dcd.mdb - This file is the main database of the program. All inspections are stored in this database while resident in the DCD.
  • REAC_DCD.ini - This file is the Initiation file. Contained within the .ini file are instructions that control which remote server the DCD will connect to while sending and receiving data.

These files may be periodically updated individually as functionality is added to PASS. Specific instructions will be provided for each release of the software.
