Median Processing Time Drops to 51 Days in FY 2007

The Office of Insured Health Care Facilities (OIHCF) staff once again demonstrated its dedication to customer service by drastically reducing the processing time of applications for FHA hospital mortgage insurance in FY 2007. Through the fiscal year, FHA issued nine mortgage insurance commitments with a median processing time of 51 days. Four of the nine commitments were issued in the last week of the fiscal year. Processing time is defined as of the number of days between FHA�s receipt of a complete application and the date a commitment for mortgage insurance is issued. Once a commitment is issued, an FHA lender can secure financing for the project.
