Trial by fire is an understatement for this recently opened HUD Section 202 subsidized property for senior citizens. Two years ago, Pasque Meadows in Sioux Falls was nearing completion when a devastating fire struck. No one was injured but the building was a total loss.

This former HUD home provides affordable homeownership for a Sioux Falls family. HUD/FHA allows non-profit organizations to purchase HUD Homes at a discount, and pass the savings to low-income or first time homebuyers.

The residents who live at Sunrise apartments in Aberdeen, South Dakota are enjoying many new features. Recent renovations have updated the property and increased accessibility for the residents.

With the help of HUD’s HOME funds the Sioux Falls Housing Corporation (SFHC) is helping to revitalize neighborhoods and provide affordable home ownership opportunities. The HOME funds help SFHC acquire older homes that contribute to neighborhood deterioration.

Brentwood Park Estates will provide 14 individuals with disabilities the opportunity to live in new, affordable, accessible housing. A Section 811 grant was received by Volunteers of America Dakotas to build this much needed housing option.
