General Information

The Seattle Housing Authority (SHA) is a public corporation, providing affordable housing to more than 26,500 people in approximately 6,000 public housing units and 8,400 Housing Choice Voucher units. Housing is provided in locations throughout Seattle through a variety of programs that include SHA operated housing, partner operated communities, and private rental housing.

In keeping with its mission, the agency supports a wide range of community services for residents, including employment services, case management, and youth activities. At the start of SHA's MTW program, the agency served 10,560 households, and by the end of FY 2006, the number served had increased to 11,896.

MTW Status

SHA's MTW program began December 30, 1998. SHA signed the Standard Agreement in 2008, extending its current agreement until September 30, 2018.
