Public and Indian Housing would like to have a conference call with housing authority software vendors on July 30th at 3pm eastern to discuss changes to the form 50058 in PIC as they pertain to the Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) program. Prior to the conference call, concerns should be emailed to RAD@hud.gov.
Attendees should plan on the call starting promptly at 3pm eastern. The conference call number will be (877) 848-7030. Please follow the prompts and enter meeting access code 2641304.
We look forward to talking to you on July 30th.
Capital Fund Certification - June 26, 2014
Certification to start on July 2nd
Certification of the building and unit data in PIC for the FY 2015 Capital Fund will begin on July 2nd. By delaying the start one day we will allow any development regroupings and housing agency consolidations to process completely before the initialization of the cap fund process.
Guidance on the cap fund process can be found on the Office of Capital Improvements webpage here.
January 50058 Summarization Delayed - January 31, 2014
Summarization of form 50058 data delayed one week
Summarization of form 50058 data for the month ending January 31st, 2014 will be delayed one weekend, from February 7th to February 14th, to allow the emergency system release to be installed.
As mentioned in the previous headline, system release 7.8 in December inadvertently introduced a defect in the calculation of the SEMAP and FSS reports, undercounting assisted families. The release on February 14th will fix this issue. After the emergency release is installed and verified, the monthly summarization jobs will be turned on and the reports generated. All reports should be available on Tuesday February 18th following the President's Day holiday.
We appreciate your understanding as we work to make PIC as accurate as possible.
Defects in Release 7.8 - January 21, 2014
Issues with SEMAP Report and HA Contacts
With the release of PIC 7.8 in December, a defect was inadvertently introduced in the SEMAP report that undercounts the number of participating families. Currently only families participating in the Family Self Sufficiency program are being counted in the report – regular HCV families are not being counted.
Additionally, an upgrade to a server caused a program compatibility issue where PIC users are unable to update Housing Agency contacts. Neither new contacts nor existing contacts can be edited.
Testing of the fixes is nearly complete and both issues will be fixed in an emergency release scheduled for February 14th. We apologize for any inconvenience these items may have caused.
